Application process

Chalmers Innovation’s mission is to support inventors and entrepreneurs to create businesses, faster than they can do on their own. Chalmers Innovation evaluates 120 ideas each year and commences collaborations with and invests in 10 of them.

Initial contact

The first contact is often through a telephone call to one of our business coaches that are experienced in answering questions about new technological findings, and what can be suitable as a commercial project.

The evaluation process is commenced with a meeting with one of the business coaches after submitting the application form, see attachment below and further instructions under How To Do. If the coach finds that your idea lives up to the main criteria, the inventor is encouraged to continue the evaluation process.

Next step

Preceding the individual coach’s evaluation, the innovator is asked to present the idea to the decision committee, which consists of all seven business coaches at Chalmers Innovation. See the attachment below for a presentation template with queries that needs to be addressed and further instructions under Present you idea.

If Chalmers Innovation determines to invest in the idea, the inventor and Chalmers Innovation move on to more intricate discussions on the collaboration to fit the individual idea and inventors.
