Board of Directors

Chalmers Innovation's Board of Directors is appointed by the Foundation of Chalmers University of Technology. The board is comprised of five individuals, with a lot of experience in both the business and research world. Several of them have also experience in starting technologically based ventures.

Chairman: Göran Netzler

Göran received a technical licentiate and obtained his degree from Chalmers University of Technology in 1977. He is currently involved in several directorial boards, and his connection with Chalmers Innovation is focused on investments in research and high-tech business concepts and rapid growth companies. He is the former managing director for NDC Netzler & Dahlgren Co AB, and chairman at NDC Automation Inc. (NASDAQ) and West Sweden Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Vice Chairman: Professor Sören Sjölander

Sören is a professor of Innovation Technology at Chalmers University of Technology. He is one of the co-founders of Chalmers Advanced Management Programs, Chalmers Innovation and Center of Business Innovation @ Chalmers, a research center for new companies.

Sören is on the board of directors of Chalmers Invest as well as and several other companies both quoted on the stock exchange and rapid growth. He is an advisor for Creandum, and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Sören has initiated several companies, and received prizes and distinctions from the innovation sphere.

Member: Eva-Carin Tengberg

Eva-Carin is the head of PR and Communication at GöteborgBIO, affiliated with Business Region Göteborg. She works with the development of the biomedical field in western Sweden and is a member of several boards in the innovation and investment industry. She has more than 15 years experience from the biotech industry, of which 10 years as MD both in Sweden and abroad.  

Member: Olof Engström

Olof is a professor of the Solid-State Electronics at Chalmers University of Technology. He managed the planning and construction of the “Microtechnology Center at Chalmers” (MC2). Since 2003, he has returned to the research of solid-state nanostructures within a number of EU-financed research projects. In the early 1990s he founded Samba Sensors AB, a venture producing fiber-optic pressure sensors.

Call in: Stig Ekman

Stig is the director of Chalmers University of Technology Foundation, which has the overall responsibility of Chalmers Innovation. He working with Chalmers since 1971 and on the directorial board of the Foundation "Stiftelsen för Medicin & Teknik".
