The idea description, together with the presentation carried out by the inventor, is used as basic data for decision-making by Chalmers Innovation. The portray of your idea should be between 5-10 pages.

To facilitate this description you can download a document template situated at the end of this page. Think about describing the benefit and potential of your idea rather then putting the focus on technical details.

All questions need not to be answered during the preliminary contact with us. The most important questions to clarify are: what necessity your idea serves for the proposed customer/consumer, what your solutions is and what benefit the customer/consumer has by applying your specific solution.

Project description

Under the heading “Project description” you can portray Your project and clarify it’s general and specific objectives.

  3. What are the specific objectives/goals?
  4. What is the activity plan for the project during the initial six months (corresponding to the pre-incubation period)?

Business concept & intended business

This headline should be comprised of a detailed description of your business concept and how You have intended to generate business by it.

What are you selling to Who and How are you going to make profits by doing this.

  2. Who is the target-group?
  3. What are the customers/consumers willing to pay for the product?

Consumer need

Describe what You believe the necessities your business concept satisfies.

  1. What customer/consumer needs does the product satisfy? 
  1. Have you carried out any market surveys to confirm and clarify the necessity of the product?
  1. What makes Your product better than other alternatives (for consumers/costumers)? 
  1. What benefits do the consumers/costumers receive by Your offer?
  1. What applications can the consumers/costumers use that they previously couldn’t? 
  1. Can you quantify the necessities?

What uniqueness does Your project provide

  1. Give an account for the uniqueness of Your innovation that no one else has succeeded in building?
  1. Can Your idea be patented?
  1. Have you conducted any news coverage or review? 
  1. Have you contacted any patent engineers?
  1. How can the business be protected?
