About Stena Center

Stena Center, situated at Holtermansgatan i Landala was built in 1895 and is today a center for tech based innovations.

The merchant J.P. Holterman established a donation fund for building a new hospital in Gothenburg as early as 1793. Due to the demand of a land area in the outskirts of the city, well distanced from other buildings, it wasn’ t finished until 100 years later. Today the scenery has changed and we are located opposite Chalmers main entrance in the city central.

The building served as a hospital for 66 years. In 1960 it was donated by the municipality of Gothenburg to the state and Chalmers University of technology and then adjusted to rooms for education.

1997 saw Sten A Olssons foundation for research and culture donate money to renovate the old hospital and turn it into a center for tech based innovations. Today that’s what our facilities are – a dynamic center where ideas and entrepreneurs flourish and companies are founded.
